PGAT-I: MA / MSc / MCom and Conventional PG Courses:

For PGAT-I conventional postgraduate courses, the candidate should satisfy the qualifying graduation rules for the selected subject.

  1. 1Passed or appearing in the qualifying graduate examination such as B.A., B.Sc., B.Com. or equivalent from University of Allahabad or a UGC-recognized university/institution.

PGAT-2026 admission will be based on entrance test performance and the rules published by University of Allahabad. The press release states that each test will carry 300 marks with 150 MCQs and no negative marking. MBA and MBA-RD applicants must also appear in an additional test conducted by the concerned department, and final merit will use both PGAT and additional test scores.

University of Allahabad PGAT 2026 is the postgraduate admission process for the academic session 2026-27. The online registration started on 05 May 2026 through the official AU Pravesh portal. The last date to submit the online form is 25 May 2026, and the fee payment last date is also 25 May 2026. PGAT-I covers conventional postgraduate courses and is offered in both online and offline mode. PGAT-II covers non-conventional and professional courses and is offered in online mode only. The official press release states that each PGAT-2026 test will be of 300 marks with 150 multiple choice questions and no negative marking. Candidates applying for MBA or MBA (Rural Development) will also have to take an additional departmental test.
