Constable (General Duty Close Cadre) in Special Branch of Bihar Police:

1Nationality: Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.

2Education: Candidate must have passed Intermediate / 10+2 or an equivalent examination by the application cut-off date, 05 March 2026.

3Age as on 01 August 2026: Minimum age is 18 years. Maximum age is 25 years for UR male/female, 27 years for BC/EBC male, 28 years for BC/EBC female, and 30 years for SC/ST male/female candidates.

4Domicile / reservation: Reservation benefits are available as per Bihar Government rules and require valid Bihar domicile and category certificates. Candidates from outside Bihar claiming reserved categories are treated as unreserved candidates.

Final Merit List

The written examination is OMR based and has two objective papers. Paper I has Reasoning and Analytical Ability for 50 marks, English Grammar, Comprehension and Translation for 30 marks, and Hindi Grammar for 20 marks. Paper II has General Studies and Current Affairs for 50 marks, Mathematics and Quantitative Aptitude for 30 marks, and General Knowledge of Bihar for 20 marks. Each paper has 100 questions, 100 marks and 90 minutes. Candidates must obtain at least 30 percent marks separately in both papers to be considered for the Physical Standard Test. Final merit will be prepared category-wise on the basis of marks obtained in the main written examination, subject to eligibility, document verification, medical fitness and available vacancies.
