Prohibition Constable:

Candidate must be an Indian citizen.

Educational qualification: Intermediate / 10+2 passed, or Maulvi certificate from Bihar State Madrasa Board, or Shastri with English / Acharya without English from Bihar State Sanskrit Board, or another equivalent qualification recognized by the State Government.

Age limit: minimum age is counted with 01 August 2025 as the cut-off date. Upper age is counted with 01 August 2023 as the cut-off date for this post.

Age range by category: UR 18-25 years; BC/EBC male 18-27 years; BC/EBC female 18-28 years; SC/ST and Transgender 18-30 years.

Physical standards apply: male height 165 cm for UR/BC, 160 cm for EBC/SC/ST; male chest 81-86 cm for UR/BC/EBC and 79-84 cm for SC/ST; female height 155 cm and minimum weight 48 kg. Transgender physical standards are as per female candidates.

Jail Warder:

Candidate must be an Indian citizen.

Educational qualification: Intermediate / 10+2 or equivalent examination passed from a board or council recognized by any State Government or the Central Government.

Age limit: minimum age is counted with 01 August 2025 as the cut-off date. Upper age is counted with 01 August 2016 as the cut-off date for this post.

Direct recruitment age range: UR male 18-23 years; BC/EBC male 18-25 years; UR/BC/EBC female 18-26 years; SC/ST 18-28 years.

Home Guard quota candidates get 5 years relaxation in the prescribed upper age. Ex-servicemen quota candidates have maximum age 45 years.

Mobile Squad Constable:

Candidate must be an Indian citizen.

Educational qualification: Intermediate / 10+2 passed, or Maulvi certificate from Bihar State Madrasa Board, or Shastri with English / Acharya without English from Bihar State Sanskrit Board, or another equivalent qualification recognized by the State Government.

Driving licence: candidate must hold a valid two-wheeler and four-wheeler LMV or HMV driving licence issued by the competent authority on or before 26 September 2025 / the application cut-off date.

Age limit: minimum age is counted with 01 August 2025 as the cut-off date. Upper age is counted with 01 August 2020 as the cut-off date for this post.

Age range by category: UR 18-25 years; BC/EBC male 18-27 years; BC/EBC female 18-28 years; SC/ST 18-30 years. Trained Bihar Home Guards get 5 years relaxation; ex-servicemen relaxation is as per the rule stated in the official notification.

Final Merit List

The written examination is qualifying for Prohibition Constable, Jail Warder direct recruitment and Mobile Squad Constable. It has one OMR-based paper of 100 questions for 100 marks, with 2 hours duration, and the level is Matric / 10th standard. Questions cover Hindi, English, Mathematics, Social Science, Science, General Knowledge and Current Affairs. Candidates scoring below 30 percent in the written exam are treated as not qualified for the next stage. Candidates are shortlisted for PET normally up to 5 times the vacancies by category, and final merit for Prohibition Constable, Jail Warder direct recruitment and Mobile Squad Constable is based on PET marks from running, high jump and shot put. For Jail Warder Home Guard quota and Ex-servicemen quota posts, merit is based on the written examination, but candidates must appear for physical measurement as required.

๐Ÿ“ Job Description

CSBC has issued the admit card and written exam notice for Advertisement No. 03/2025. This recruitment covers Prohibition Constable, Jail Warder and Mobile Squad Constable posts in Bihar. The updated total number of posts is 4,236 after the official corrigendum notices. The written examination will be held on 14 June 2026 and 17 June 2026 in morning and afternoon shifts across the state. Candidates can check exam district details from 01 June 2026 on the CSBC website. Admit cards for the 14 June exam can be downloaded from 08 June 2026, and admit cards for the 17 June exam can be downloaded from 11 June 2026. Candidates must carry the printed e-admit card and a valid photo identity proof to the exam centre. Entry will close one hour before the examination, so candidates should follow the reporting time printed on the admit card.
