🎓 Eligibility

Forest Guard:

Candidate must have appeared in UPSSSC Preliminary Eligibility Test PET-2025 and must hold a valid PET-2025 score card issued by the Commission.

Candidate must have passed 10+2 Intermediate examination from a recognized board in India. The required qualification must be possessed by the last date of application, 20 July 2026.

For shortlisting to the Forest Guard and Wildlife Guard Main Examination, UPSSSC will use the PET-2025 score as per the official notification. Candidates with zero or negative absolute PET score will not be shortlisted for the main examination.

Age limit is 18 to 40 years as on 01 July 2026 for the base category. Reserved category age relaxation is applicable only as per Uttar Pradesh Government / UPSSSC rules and valid certificate conditions.

Physical standards apply separately. Male candidates need minimum height 168 cm for UR/OBC/SC and 160 cm for ST; female candidates need minimum height 152 cm for UR/OBC/SC and 147 cm for ST. Male chest is 84 cm for UR/OBC/SC and 82 cm for ST with minimum 5 cm expansion.

Selected candidates will have to satisfy physical efficiency, document verification and medical fitness requirements as prescribed in the official notification.

The written main examination will have one objective multiple-choice paper with 100 questions for 100 marks and two hours duration. The paper includes subject-related knowledge for 50 marks, elementary mathematics and biology for 15 marks, computer and information technology for 15 marks, and Uttar Pradesh general knowledge for 20 marks. Each question carries one mark and there is negative marking of 25 percent of the prescribed mark for each wrong answer. Candidates are shortlisted for the main examination on the basis of PET-2025 score, and final recruitment stages include physical standards, physical efficiency, document verification and medical fitness as per the official notification.
